Controlled, non-toxic power that gets the job done safely...

What is Dexpan?

Dexpan is a non-toxic expanding agent that upon activation with common water creates an incredible 18,000 PSI expansion factor.  It's affordable, extremely easy to use and seasonally flexible.  Three types are available depending on ambient and subject material temperature.

With Dexpan, you'll end the stress, costs and liability associated with flyrock, storage, and explosive transport and provide a safe, controlled alternative to quarry blasting.  Another great advantage to using Dexpan is that you'll lose less material due to the unavoidable loss of gross product through the blasting process.  This material recovery can range anywhere from 15-30.  With Dexpan, you are able to keep every last bit of your valuable material.  You'll also gain freedom from diamond saws, jackhammers, noise, vibrations and dust as well.  Dexpan is the safe, sensible way to succeed when a project requires silent, controlled, high-yield results!

-Type 1 works from 77 degrees to 104 degrees F.

-Type 2 works from 50 degrees to 77 degrees F.

-Type 3 works from 23 degrees to 50 degrees F.

How to use Dexpan...

  • Use Hammerdrill to drill holes in subject material with 1.5" (Ideal) or no larger than 2" bit at a distance of 8" apart (reinforced concrete) to 12" apart (non-reinforced material).
  • Mix one 11 Lb bag of Dexpan and 1.5L of water with drill and paddle mixer well into a slurry.
  • Within 10-15 minutes of mixing pour Dexpan slurry into pre-drilled holes, leaving approximately 1/2" to 1" empty from the top of the hole.
  • Within 6 to 10 Hrs beginning hairline cracks should occur.
  • Within 24 Hrs definitive breaks should be apparent.
  • Maximum crack width is typically attained in approximately 48 Hrs.
